Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal / Agra Tour

By car or by train, take the ride of your life to one of the world’s most magnificent architectural and symbolic feats. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to one of their children. The Emperor was so grief-stricken by the loss of his love, he spent every waking moment dedicated to designing the most beautiful resting place for his wife. It is widely considered as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world and stands as a symbol of eternal love.

Taj Mahal is the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Turkish and Indian architectural styles. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
